Meet Our Horses!!!

Tinky Silver Bars is one of Amanda's two retired NBHA Barrel Racing horses, she is a registered APHA Paint who has her ROM (Register of Merit) with the APHA in Pole Bending. At 25 years old, TInky has some foot problems, but she's still the matriarch of the farm. TInky gives some kids' leadline lessons and watches over the other horses on the farm. She enjoys being the center of attention at our Horse Birthday Parties!!! 

*Tinky is Val's sister and Dupree's Mom*

Midway Bright Valentine is Tinky's sister and Dupree's Aunt. She is Amanda's other retired NBHA Barrel Racing Horse. Val is also a registered APHA Paint and loves to barrel race and pole bend as well as trail ride. An injury several years ago left Val, unable to compete anymore, a few years later 23 year old Val is happy and healthy and while she can't compete at the NBHA level anymore, she enjoys teaching the next generation how to run Timed Events, taking special care with beginners. Val also loves to be rode and shown English when she she's not guiding students around barrels.

Rockin' City Kitty is also a registered APHA Paint Horse. Kitty is semi-retired from Western Pleasure, but she's push button trained and teaches adult students all about the joys of relaxing Western Pleasure. Kitty enjoys trail riding and can make even beginner Western Pleasure riders feel confident! She still enjoys performing in the Western Pleasure ring and is ready and willing to tune up for a Horse Show anytime! Kitty can be a bit moody but once you get to know her she's sweet as a kitten!

At 22 years old, IDigADoc is a gentle old soul. Amanda started and trained Sky along side her father; born and raised on the farm, Sky is a very special horse! Sky is a registered AQHA Quarter Horse and the son of Gil Stephenson's late AQHA stud Docs Cash Reward. Sky has been shown Western Pleasure and Hunter Under Saddle (AQHA) His size and big movements make Western harder for him in his older age, so his most comfortable and favorite discipline is English. Even beginner students can ride this big red horse!

*Sky is the biggest horse on the farm, standing at almost 17 Hands, we affectionately refer to him as our loveable giraffe!*

CJ's Lonesome Cash is the son of Tinky Silver Bars and Gil Stephenson's late AQHA stud Docs Cash Reward; the last foal to be born at Stephenson Quarter Horses in 2007 makes Dupree very special. His palomino (blonde) and white coat, with his blue eyes, make the "Surfer Boy" a favorite with students. Dupree can do it all from Western and English pleasure, walk trot barrels for the beginners, to beginner jumping and bareback lessons, to kids lessons and leadline!  Dupree has a lot of personality and lives up to his "Surfer Boy" nickname, we think he should start his own fanpage!

"Ben" is relatively new to the farm, he arrived for training and experience in Feb of 2021, everyone instantly fell in love with the registered Appaloosa's charm. We have been leasing Ben since summer 2021 to continue his experience and expand our lesson program. Ben is young, only 9, he is suitable for more advanced students (Western and English) and is an excellent trail horse. Ben is a wonderful asset to Stephenson Equestrian Connection LLC. 

Meet one of the barn favorites, Mr. Draco! He is a literal in your pocket pony, Draco soaks up attention like a sponge! He's got the biggest personality and he just loves receiving visitors, especially if they have treats. Draco was a working ranch horse before his new human adopted him, now he's an outstanding English trail horse and he's becoming quiet and confident in the ring. He's a very curious Quarter Horse and he likes to have lots of interaction and he seems to genuinely love going places in the trailer. He's very forward and definitely more go than "Whoa". He does both English and Western and he frequently goes on big adventures around the area. Come say "Hi!" you'll make his day!
