What is Equestrian Yoga?

The definition of Yoga is literally "the unification of two things, whatever their nature" This fits perfectly for a rider of horses, as we strive for unity and oneness with our equine when riding! Through gentle yoga stretching on the ground, on the horse and with the horse; coupled with meditation and breath awareness, a better bond and deeper unity is achieved between rider and horse. Being in control of ones own mind, body and soul, (achieved through yoga practice) the rider is then better able to unite with the horses' mind, body, and soul. Equestrian Yoga consists of gentle poses on and off the horse for the rider to help with balance, concentration, flexibility, stability in the saddle, stamina, breathing, focus and strength.

We also show how to apply stretching to our Equine friends, horses are one big muscle and Horse Pilates/Yoga is very beneficial in helping  horses with their stamina, flexibility, strength, focus, and deepens their bond with us because of all those feel good endorphins! Horses love to stretch and such a great treat for your horse and you after a lesson or a long day! For the same reasons we also like to work with certain beneficial acupressure points to help horses stay comfortable and healthy after lessons and workout!
